How exactly do you use this. I put the txt and bat file in the root of the EFZ folder and ran it but I just get a black screen. I am running windows vista 64 on my pc.

Yep just tried it out and the patch works. Thanks for the link. No need to kill explorer.exe every time I want to play EFZ.
Is there any way to get this to run with netplay though? The fix only works when playing the game through the patch. I dont think the netplay program will run the game through the patch though so that might mean you still need to kill explorer.exe to run netplay.
To use it: Copy contents of zip file into the game directory. Then double click on the .cfg and it should run the game. It might not work the first time but run it a second time and it should work.
PC is running Win 7 Pro x64 so I assume it should work for the other OSes.

actually since I was at work when I saw this I didn't get the chance to download it until I got home, and by then the link was already down. D:
I should actually check if they give free webspace at USC...

Works great. Now all we need is someone to hack windowed mode for 4.02.

Since this topic was brought up in #efz, I think I should maybe say something about it :V
This program right now only works if you want to run EFZ directly, and so netplay doesn't seem to work. But actually the application is just a batch file with only 3 lines of code which kills explorer, runs efz, then brings explorer back again. From what I can guess, you can modify the program to run netplay by replacing the "efz.exe" part in the code (using any text editor) with the netplay program. However, I have not tested this for myself yet so I'm not absolutely sure.
Uh, hopefully that should be easy enough to understand. :V
EDIT: Confirmed by random 4channer that it works, it seems.

I've got to try it out sometime. No win7 graphical fix for netplay was part of the reason why I haven't bothered to play this game again.
