hey everyone I am having an issue with EFZ regarding video display (attachment). the game plays fine, no problems but this. I am suggesting that it's my gfx fault but I'm not sure. I am running other fighter games okay but not this one. any luck for me to fix this? if anyone needs to know my laptop specs, please say so. Attachments:

the answer to that question is a yes.
it happens every time I run the game. I think it's a software capability issue. the reason is because I can run Guilty Gear XX reload just fine on that laptop. so I wonder why this is happening.

I had that problem happen every now and then in Vista but I would just restart the game and it would be fine. No changes in compatibility needed
Win 7 is a different story though and I have the same problem happen to me as well.
Im using a laptop w/ Win 7 Pro x64 nVidia 9800m gts
Tried to mess around with compatibility settings and it doesnt seem to fix it. I even installed the optional XP mode but the display wouldnt load at all under that.
My next attempt would be to install Vista Home x64 under Virtualbox and see what happens.
Right now my current solution is to run it with the d3dwindower. It works but its not fullscreen. Also the fps is very inconsistent even under my gaming laptop. Lots of drops when the comp does anything.
Ill keep on trying but if someone could find a fix then it would be much appreciated.

Got a new Windows 7 laptop recently. I too have the same "unicorn barfed out a rainbow" effect. I'll look into some japanese sites later and see what I can dig up

I recently started playing EFZ again and on Windows 7 this time. When I started, I too was having this issue, but I have found a solution!
To fix this issue: 1. Run: Task Manager || CTRL+ALT+DELETE will also open up "Task Manager" 2. End Process: explorer.exe 3. File > New Task (Run...): [your EFZ directory]efz.exe or EFZdotNET_EX.exe (for netplay)
To start up back explorer.exe, simply do: File > New Task (Run...): explorer.exe
Have fun everyone!

Yeah, this solution works for me. I was thinking of leaving the Screen Resolution window open and Alt-Tabbing back into EFZ (since this sometimes works for StarCraft), but then I remembered you can't really Alt-Tab back into EFZ...

The killing explorer thing probably works but it also probably isn't something you really want to do every time you want to play EFZ...
I think the d3dwindower that thegrape posted works fine, you can change the resolution and then maximize it and it will be pretty close to playing EFZ full screen (I think you can hide the taskbar too if you need to). That and you can alt-tab out of EFZ pretty easily that way, as well.
Props to Lev!

Yeah the explorer.exe method solved it for me as well. Thanks for the info.
The d3dwindower works fine and its good for alt tabbing but the only problem with it is that it does not run EFZ at 63 fps which messes up the timing for combos, while running the game alone gives a pretty consistent frame rate.

Yea, this is true, I noticed this after a while :/ Oh well I guess we'll just have to do the explorer thing for now. :V
