HELP! A very noobish problem.

Ok, I just started downloading Eternal Fighter Zero and here's my problem.

I downloaded the original EFZ and it works fine with it's limited options and 4 character selection. However, when I download any of the updates I don't know how to use them. Whenever I click the updates individual EFZ.exe it gives me a blank screen and my computer freezes.
Now I also know that each of the updates comes with a Patch.exe but
my problem is, I don't know exactly what I'm supposed to patch.

Any help would be extremely appreciated.

if you downloaded the game aned only 4 character
that means you downloaded the "DEMO" not the original game

original game suppose to have 12 character not 4

The game wasn't meant to be free so getting it legit = moolah.

If this doesn't work for you, you can invoke a swashbuckling spirit, adopt a parrot companion, and leave on an excursion for gold bullion and other types of booty. There's a torrent over at Hongfire, but know that if you plan to use the hacked netplay feature, the Hongfire copy is actually an upgraded version of 3.10 Bad Moon Edition. The netplay was designed for 4.02 Memorial, so you may run into problems if you try using the HF version in this regard.

The website should have the demo and updates available for various versions of the game, up to the latest and probably last version, 4.02 Memorial.

Also, what am I supposed to do with those patch files that are included with the updates?

It's been a while since I did it, but unzip and run the executable. The dialog box should allow you to browse to the directory of your EFZ executable, so find it, hit OK or whatever, and let it do its thing.

Alllright I find it! There was a torrent for EFZ version 4.01 memorial on torrent spy, so I downloaded it and it works perfectly! Ok, I'll try patching it with the two latest versions now.

Does the copy you have include a hack to play Boss Unknown? If it does, it's probably the same as the Hongfire variant.

Yes, this one does come with the hack to play boss unknown. However, it's definitely version 4.01 since it says so in the Japanese manual that came with the game.

But hmm, Boss Unknown was never intended to be played eh?

ehh? u dont need a hack to play unknown`` o__o ;

if u lose and continue once or more on arcade.. u'll face unknown as final boss instead of kanon..

I think he means playing AS the boss version of Unknown, rather than playing against her.
